Much like the Dali Lama, (which literally translates to, “ocean guru”), every so often a fish is spawned of great leadership with much wisdom and skills far above the rest and immediately recognized by all, in this game you are that fish. As you get close enough to the other fish they recognize you and turn from blue to yellow and begin to follow you and keep up as best they can. It is up to you to guide them to safety from the hungry orcas that keep appearing every 25 clicks on the clock craving yellow fish. The round ends when you are eaten or have greater ball shrinkage than ball swelling. You may then either re-spawn or hit any button for top score and exit. Final score is your balls apex minus a quarter of the carnage.

This is Markus Trenkwalder’s first demo ever! It shows what his small rasterizer/renderer can do. The demo features point and line rendering, gouraud shading, lighting, texture and environment mapping and additive blending. The demo also runs on Windows so you don’t need a GP2X to watch. CromoZome is a score attack genetic survival game by Kevin “PokeParadox” Winfield-Pantoja, where you strive to keep your CromoZome alive, by eating the other CromoZomes.

The software includes different kinds of things.

1. The webcam drivers, these are webcam drivers that are loaded as modules in the kernel. There should be support for 260 camera’s or something like that. In case your webcam is not supported, please let me know.

2. The photocam2x program, this is a program to take photos. Just use L or R to grab a picture. Press Y to go to the album, use the joystick to browse and click to view a photo full screen. Click again to go back to the album. Press Y to capture again. Press start to quit the program. Using A and B you can add some effects to the webcam stream. For more information, read the readme.

3. libcam2x, this is a library to make development of future programs that use webcam functionality easy. Some ideas: Puzzle game with live webcam as image, security motion detection, use webserver software of gp2x and stream the images over the internet, eyetoy like games, … (some extra info in readme) To test, copy the directory cam2x to your sd card / samba share.
