TEXT OS v1.0 (NDS Application)

Text OS is a small application designed to be of quick use to developers. The purpose of Text OS is to get developers to test their games faster on the DS Hardware.Text OS provide support to boot only Homebrew apps. It will also boot what ever is in slot-2 of the device.There is a R4 ready version in the “R4_ready” folder. This replaces the R4 interface.All you have to do is delete the old R4 files, backing them up of course and placeing the files from the folder on the root of your card.

Take The Eggs v1.0 (NDS Game)

retrohead has updated “Take the eggs! Ornithorhynchus Anatinus GO GO GO! DS.”

This is a port of the Sega Saturn game by NAXAT SOFT called Motteke Tamago with Ganbare! Kamonohashi. The game can be seen as a cross between the classic Bomberman games and Flicky.

Changes:

Vehicle speed on world 2 increased to be closer to the original game.
Time stop active time decreased to be closer to the original game.
Ghost / Death Messenger can now hit eggs and loose babies.
Added 5 new stages.
Added 4 new characters.
Score sprites positioning improved.
Added Hi-Score menu and awards for story mode.
Story sections incorperated.
2 hidden modes available for ranking high in story mode.
Options screen with sound level options added.
Save game support added to keep your Hi-Scores and unlocked modes etc.
Beat characters in story mode to unlock them in versus mode.
Play worlds in story mode to unlock them in versus mode.
Various bugs fixed.

XM7Play (25-02-2009) (NDS Application)

XM7Play by sverx is a simple XM player based on libxm7.

Changes:

Hi! XM7Play new version today, r2009-004.

1) Based on libXM7 beta 0.93, so now the support of XM effects is complete 🙂

2) The included sample optimizer is also complete, so now the samples that are likely to have detuning problems will be manipulated to play as they should. (affect samples with loops… of course it’s possible to disable the optimizer, just like it was before)

3) … no Graphical UI. Contact me if you’re interested in writing one! 🙂

Important: the section “Getting the most of your tune” of the libXM7 documentation has been rewritten… read the previous post for details.

Download is at the same location, source of the function loading XMs is always included.

TKKNDS v0.91 (NDS Game)

jsfaint updated TKKNDS, it’s an Asteroids-like game for Nintendo DS.

Changes:

– Implement the top 10 list.
– Add display result before show score list.
– Add background music. (The music come from CONTRA which is a NES game made by KONAMI in 1988)
– Add version information.
– Modify the main menu.
– Fix Score list bug…
– Fix stylus control issue.
– Remove efsroot from subversion control. (because of the bad compatibility)
– PS: There was a v0.4 in my subversion, but I never release it.

QuirkDS (WIP) (NDS Game)

Here’s a preview version of maRk2512’s new game called QuirkDS. It’s a remake of the old GameBoy game “Kwirk, A-mazing tater”.

Changes:

– Spindoors are now turnable. find out how
– Player(s) can use the exit!

To do list: make blocks moveable, undo/save function, (user friendly!) mapeditor, custom backgrounds, menus/intro/gui. What do you think about the stylus control? Is a pad control better? or both? Please post a message!

libnds v1.3.2 (NDS misc)

libnds has been updated and is a coding library to be used for the Nintendo DS.

Changes:

correct bgGet return value.
bgUpdate sets all backgrounds.
consoleInit(), now initializes a passed in PrintConsole* with default settings.
All vram defines use “SPRITE” as apposed to a mixture of “OBJ” and “SPRITE”.
Added oamAllocReset(), oamInit now clears all sprite memory allocations.
keyboard and console VRAM mapping changed to better default layout.
keyboard now has visual feedback.
keyboard update no longer calls scanKeys().
Added backspace support for proper stdio behavior.
findAP checks wep mode before copying wep key.
dynamicArray.h adds deallocation.
more gbatek naming fixes.
added setBrightness function for fading.
