VVVVVV (06-11-2011) (Pandora Game Port)

Pickle got access to the closed source code of Terry Cavanagh’s VVVVVV (PC version) and made a Pandora port. Although the Pandora gets a great game don’t forget to obtain the official PC game, as you’ll require it’s data files.

Release notes:

VVVVVV PC versions come with a folder called data, this folder should be copied to the appdata folder which should be something like /media/mysdcard/pandora/appdata/vvvvvv

Either create the folder or run the pnd once, then copy the data over. Once the data is present you should just need to run the game.

Note: Previous users dont need to change anything, just get the pnd and play.

Home/Pageup are mapped to Action
End/Pagedown are mapped to Enter (map)

Edit: current pnd has a bug with the hidden folder .vvvvvv, either wait for the updated pnd or create this folder yourself in the appdata folder.

Liquid War 5 v5.6.4.0 (Pandora Game Port)

Liquid War is a unique multiplayer wargame. Its rules are truely original and have been invented by Thomas Colcombet. You control an army of liquid and have to try and eat your opponents. A single player mode is available, but the game is definitely designed to be multiplayer, and has network support.

This is the second port of this game to the Pandora, while this being the most recent one. Port by lunixbochs.

Desert Bus v1.04 (Wii Game)

In 1995 Penn & Teller produced a video game for the Sega CD called Smoke and Mirrors but the publisher went bankrupt before it could be released. One of the mini-games was called “Desert Bus”, which has been faithfully reproduced here for the Wii.

The aim of Desert Bus is to drive from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada. The full trip is 360 miles long, which must be completed without stopping. The bus can only reach 45 miles an hour and pulls to the right ever so slightly. The only things you’re likely to see while on the road (besides the desert floras) are a few scattered bus stops, which you can stop at and open the door of the bus. Note that you probably won’t find anyone waiting (it’s the desert after all). Driving off with the door open is not allowed as it would be a safety violation.

If the bus engine overheats due to running off the road or remaining stationary for too long, a tow truck will be dispatched to collect you. When it arrives it will tow you back to the last starting point, and the game ends.

If you do happen to make it all the way to Las Vegas, you get 1 point. Then you get 12 seconds to decide if you want to attempt the return journey back to Tucson. If you don’t push 2 within the 12 second countdown the game will end.

Changes:

* added the original title music
* fixed some very old Z order rendering issues
* better handling for overscan
* remove default wiimote power button callback
* behind the scenes improvements
