Limited Access to PDroms

Just a note that PDroms has been partially disabled due to a Denial of Service (DoS) attack.A portuguese guy caused traffic of 43 gigabyte in 2 days (2nd and 3rd) may. This means my traffic limit has been nearly reached by now. The current situation out of this: All hostmarks are banned, only exceptions are .at .de .ch .fi&.com hostmarks.Since I only had 4 hours of sleep and have to work now, I’ll try to enable all countries again as soon as possible, but downloads will be definatly disabled till 1st June 2003! If I do not disable downloads it would cost me 600 euros till the end of the month. PDroms is a free and non profit project. I’m a student and can’t afford that amount of money to keep PDroms running at 100% for now.I hope to get the problems sorted out as soon as possibe. News service about homebrewn productions for your favorite consoles will, or course, continue in maximum 2 days.Hope you people out there understand my situation.RegardsKojote / Webmaster of pdroms.com

Berzerk Legends – 6th May 2003 (GBA game)

BigRedPimp told me via EFNET #pdroms that there is a new build of his game”Berzerks Legends”which is, as you can guess from the name, a Berzerks Clone. The post on his page was:

Well, isn’t that funny? 2 months exactly since my last beta build. This build shows the AI levels working for the enemies, but not the enemy fire (yet). The AI levels are as follow:

Points Robot Color Shots fired
0-260 pts.  Yellow 0
260-1200 Red 1
1200-3000  Light Blue 2
3000-4500 Yellow/Green 3
4500-6000 Purple 4
6000-8000 Yellow 5
8000-10000 White One fast shot (2x speed)
10000-12000 Light Blue Two fast shots

I hope to have the robots shooting me soon. 😛 As always, go to the Files section to find the latest build.

Splam! WIP News (C64 emulator for GBA)

Anyone remembering Splam!? The author is still working on his Commodore64 emulator for the Gameboy Advance. The author has notupdated his page for ages, but recently he posted those WIP news on his page:

Just a quick update to let everyone know I’m still working on Splam when I can and to say thanks for the emails of encouragement I’ve been getting (I’ll ignore the ones just insulting me).I’ve taken Splam apart recently and I’ve been putting it back together slowly and rewriting bits as I go. As soon as I’ve got it all back together I’ll test some games on it and if it looks ok I’ll release something. It probably won’t be as fast as I want it to be (ie 50fps) but shouldn’t be too far off.

Speccyal K v0,2 (Spectrum emulator for GP32)

Tyrell did another update of his Spectrum emulator for the GP32. Here are the changes:

– Version v0.2 is released! What’s new:- Added AY-3-8910 sound ! Sound is very clean in some games. Try”head over heels”128k version,”Rick Dangerous 2″,”Tetris2″… However, in other games (especially in the menus) AY sound is not that good, there’s some background noise. But all in all, I think it’s a welcomed feature, evenif it’s not 100% perfect.- Enhanced Beeper sound. Now, it’s a little bit clearer than before, and few or no background noise can be heard.- Enhanced the virtual keyboard and added the space key (the ‘*’ on the virtual keyboard). Now, press”B”button to select the key and the”A”button to quit without pressing a key.- Options screen: when pressing the”B”key, options are not saved but they are taken into account (was not the case before).
