Carrot Kingdom (WIP) (A2600 Game)

Jinroh works on his first bigger Atari VCS Jump’n Run game called Carrot Kingdom. While the game development is still in progress you can already imagine it’s going to be something really nice. Especially if you are looking at the standard commercial games released years ago.

Dr. Flin and His Pills v5 (A2600 Game)

atari2600land strikes again with Dr. Flin and His Pills. In this game, pills are coming from the right of the screen to the left. What you do is make sure the pill color matches the hole color it goes into. If not, or it touches the sides, the pill hole becomes smaller. There are four colors of pill: red, yellow, blue and green. The green pill should be destroyed by smashing it into the wall. If a green pill gets into any hole, all three holes will become smaller.

A little change. I made the pills’ speed increase at 25 points instead of 10. I also wrote a little text describing the game. I played a game to test it. I got 180 points.

* I made the game go a bit faster once you reach 10 points. I can change this to, well, anything below 256 points.
* Once a pill is in its correct slot and you press up or down, it does not penalize you for touching the sides. Instead, it bounces up and down until it gives you a point.

Gizzle Wap 2 (11-10-2015) (A2600 Game)

Gizzle Wap 2 is a new Atari VCS game currently in development by Mountain King. If you are into sailing and exploring islands arcade style, this game might be something for you. It’s in early stages but don’t forget to give the developer feedback. Feedback usually results in motivation and results into more updates and a better game.

Release notes:

1) The Floaty Fin sprite has been replaced by playfield graphics. He is more to scale to the size of the Gizzle Wap. If you move right off the Floaty Fin screen it will place you on the island or the middle of the ocean if there is no island. To return to the map view move to his tail on the right side of screen.
2) A Maum Maum, a small bird creature similar to a sandpiper will appear on the Floaty Fin if the toxic level of an island is to high to visit. You will not be able to leave the Floaty Fin if he appears. Generations of Maum Maum have kept watch over the Toxic Isles for centuries and know its secrets.
3) The Culex fly in a more random pattern and are more aggressive.
4) You now fall into the water on islands that have sink holes.
5) The beginnings of a cure routine have been implemented, but may not be evident in game play.

Upp! (A2600 Game)

A brand new Atari VCS game by Jason Schelhorn aka theloon. Escape the space barrier in Upp! by thrusting upwards! Avoid the plasma ball and laser blasts from enemy UFOs. Obtain the energy pods (the round objects with an exclamation mark) to blast openings. If a plasma ball strikes an energy pod then the space wall rebuilds. Points are awarded when the plasma ball hits the space wall or the player exits far north.

Gizzle Wap 2 (01-10-2015) (A2600 Game)

Release notes:

1. Started using the new version of Stella. Found and eliminated some Jitter I didn’t notice on the map view.
2. The Floaty Fin moves faster now and is able to out run the Culex a little easier.
3. Your cursor remains pink.
4. Implemented the Gizzle Wap’s sidekick, Camy with a few new tricks. Camy follows you the same way as in The Strange Red Tree. Press and hold the fire button to use Camy as a shield, He won’t stay there indefinitely. He will eventually fly away. Press and hold the fire button and press up to jump to make Camy fly vertically. He flies more vertically than he did in the previous game. He zig zags now. Jump/press the button and then pull down to do the jump drop. You can make Camy hover for a few seconds if you press up to jump first and then hold the button down. He won’t hover forever and will eventually fly off.

Doom Patrol v0.7 (A2600 Game)

Doom Patrol is yet another game by Atari VCS developer winkdot.

As a member of the United Astrocorporation Unlimited (UAU) your mission is to infiltrate the Technotechnics base and destroy their super weapon controlling a tank. In order to penetrate the base, you must obtain both keys and then make a dash to destroy the super weapon. The Technotechnics base walls are deadly, avoid them. The base also has automatic random wall defense that will appear in a random fashion. Avoid them. The super weapon must be hit five times in order to be destroyed.

ORB v0.9 (A2600 Game)

ORB is an Atari VCS game by winkdot. The planet Orb can be a dangerous place full of mystery. The Alliance has lost many ships while trying to explore the planet. Too many to count. It will be your mission to rescue downed pilots and return them to the mothership.

Release notes by winkdot:

A ton of code shuffling in this one. The game no longer exceeds scan lines unless you do a Select/Reset on it. I felt this is acceptable. Some graphic changes, some enemy logic changes, additional animation. The ground WILL now harm your ship so try and avoid it. As always, let me know if you see problems.
