Achim Tobler has released an update to his smily catching game Muepp Muepp.
Changes: (translated from german to english by Kojote)
– Highscore saving finally works
-2 new labyrinths for the labyrinth level added
Release notes:
GP2X Port based upon the Hammer of Thyrion linux port of Hexen 2. Allows you to play hexen 2 demo and full games, should also support the “Portal of Praevus” expansion pack. Features: – As far as i can tell, the singleplayer is fully playable. – I’ve implemented some optimisations from PocketQuake as well as some of my own. Still requires some overclocking though. – Redesigned GP2X input system. – Supports Background midi music (if you have timidity installed). SFX are not supported, they conflict with SDL_mixer…. With no sound, an overclock of 275mhz & RAM timings ON i get about 11 – 15fps… i will try to improve this, but i reckon its smooth enough to be playable. Read the GP2X_Readme.txt for installation instructions and controls. You can also mess with the settings in the autoexec.cfg for performance/quality.
Lexus has released an inofficial german guide for the GP2x. It contains a bunch of interesting information, specially for those who just speak german only and can’t activly follow the english community.
The Giana’s Return team just posted the following news:
Oh yes! Since today Giana’s Return features WARP ZONES… of course we can’t tell where they are 😉 Every WARP ZONE allows to jump over 3 levels, which should be timesaving a lot.
Micket has continued the development on OldPlay. OldPlay is a portable multiformat music player for the GP2X and other platforms.
Changes:
VERSION 1.31 (just bugfixes, sorry no time)
* Change the default length with DEFLENGTH=X, where X is time in seconds.
* Finer volume control at lower volumes (through software)
* Pressing VOLUP+VOLDOWN now works as stick-click (for F200)
* Excluded the PSF-plugin (it was to slow to be playable)
* Loading playlists no longer messes up length
* Fixed some debug-stuff that messed up settings in libmodplug
* Added the stereo blending option again (you need to set the buttons manually in the keyconfig)
* Probably fixed some minor bugs as well

You can consider this “public beta”, meaning that I put it through private beta testers but only for a limited amount of time (a couple days, basically). I’m going to create a thread to report problems, suggestions, whatever for it.
Read the readme before using it. Enjoy.
Sachunsung is another PotA release, which has slipped under our news radar. It looks similar to the yesterdays mentioned Shanghai release, but is an OWN game.
