DJWillis let Guyfawkes of http://www.emuholic.com know that he has released a new test release of the port of ScummVM to the GP2X.
Here are the release notes:
To coincide with the open testing requests for DreamMaster’s new Lure of the Temptress engine and the recent testing requests for additional games using the AGOS engine I have done a quick SVN build of ScummVM for the GP2X.
This should also serve as the first testing pre-release of the upcoming version of ScummVM (due early next year).
Bug reports welcome on any supported engine or aspect of the port. Please put them in the tracker (or at least on the GP2X ScummVM forum) or they really stand very little chance of being fixed 🙂
Both the F100 and F200 (touch screen) are fully supported but as usual this build is, as yet, untested due to the fact I lack a GP2X.

Zeespace2x is a 2.5D rendering engine for GP2x. Namco, the porter, has managed to get this engine working faster than before.
Changes:
– changed resolution to 320 by 240 (ztest.c: 194, 195)
– changed tile size from 128 to 64 (ztest.c: 196)
– changed scale from 64 to 32 (ztest.c: 194, 206)
– changed from SWSURFACE to HWSURFACE (ztest.c: 193)
– found that the controls *do* work if you hold them in for 2 seconds

Franxis and contributors just relesed an updated version of MAME GP2x, which is a port of the famous arcade machine emulator MAME to the GP2x.
Changes:
Slaanesh:
– Added Knuckle Joe (kncljoe) (from MAME 0.37b12).
– Updated Warp Warp. Now playable with full sound.
– Bug fix to Sega Ninja (and clones) in Sega System 8 driver. Background was not correct.
– Added improved MSM5205 ADPCM sound system. This is currently separated to the old MSM5205 core.
Only Knuckle Joe uses this but there is potential to update many other games to the improved MSM5205 (e.g. Rygar).
– Added FRAC definitions (useful for adding MAME 0.36+ drivers).
Franxis:
– Due to the fact the GP2X TV-Out PAL runs at 50 Hz, the video rate is now limited to 50 Hz when using the TV-Out PAL mode,
to improve the video output and to avoid slowdowns using the VSync option.
– Anyway my recommendation to play with TV-Out is: NTSC mode, high overclocking, VSync+DblBuff and frameskip=0.

As Guyfawkes announced recently, he released an updated verison of his Yahtzee port for GP2x, this time with F200 support!
Here are his release notes:
As mentioned last week I was planning to update one of my first GP2X games from when the GP2X was first released. It was originally a port of my GP32 game Yahtzee and due to the early development kit for the GP2X the port wasn’t that great. So now the F-200 is out, touch screen is perfect for the game and although I do not own a F-200 I wanted an up to date version for myself and others to enjoy.
The game has the following changes:
– Brand new layout and design for the game. Menus and in game look totally different and are much nicer and easier to read.
– F-200 Touch Screen and USB Mouse are now fully supported.
– Media player from Squares is now used so you can play your favourite MP3, OGG and (I think) MOD format music.
– Added SFX for the dice roll. I didnt put much SFX as you should be bangin’ out your tunes 🙂
– Added animation for the dice roll.
– High Score table added.
– PDF user guide.
– Minor bug fixes.
Please read the user guide on how to set up the media player, by default it searches the /audio/ subfolder on your SD Card.
Donations are appreciated so if you like the game don’t forget! This is my last software release for the GP2X as I will be probably moving onto something else in the new year, so thanks for playing my software and long live the GP2X! I hope you enjoy the new version, you can download it from the GP2X Archive.
