Pixelizer v1.5 (PSP Lua Game)

Judas has updated his PSP puzzle game Pixelizer.

Release notes:

*UPDATE 10-18* I’ve updated the game to include one major feature. It now numbers the colors you input to make it easier to tell colors apart. It doesn’t look as sleek, but it’s more functional. Also fixed some bugs and cleaned up the code. So, in the attached archive, there is the updated game.lua, and 4 new puzzles.

SNES9xTYL v0.4.2 ME (Slim) (SNES emu for PSP)

Chilly Willy’s been busy this last week, programming with his new acquaintance CaptShoe, and here’s the result. This is Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 with MediaEngine support… for the Slim! There were also a few bug fixes as well. Although this is targeted at Slim owners, it works just fine on the phat as well. On the slim, it goes in GAME, GAME360, or GAME371. On the phat, it goes in GAME3xx or GAME if you have the kernel mode set to 3.xx.

One major limitation on this version – you cannot change the speed. It’s hardcoded for 333 MHz. This is because you cannot change the CPU speed while the MediaEngine is running or the Slim hangs. In a related issue, sleep mode has been disabled since sleep would have done nothing at all. As such, this will drain your battery rapidly.

FlacPlay (Beta) (PSP Application)

Justin Sharrad is working on a FLAC player for PSP. FLAC is a high quality audio format, refer to a Wikipedia article if you want to know more about it.

In this early stage, it just plays the files as you select them with your up and down buttons. The X button starts playing and the O button stops playback.

PSPWrite v1.0.2 (PSP Application)

Here is a new version of PSPWrite the text editor for PSP

It permits to edit even huge text file, in both dos and unix mode, using iso8859-1 (8bits) characters encoding. All iso8859-1 characters are present in the “Danzeff like” virtual keyboard.

The IR keyboard support is based on the work of Harald Fielker (author of the PSP IR Keyboard Library) with a new patch from Craig to support Sprint PCS IR keyboard.

It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5 and 3.40-OE, and for the IR keyboard part it has been tested using a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard.

Changes:

– IR keyboard is now active in all menus and the ENTER
key works fine (no need to press Ctrl-X in menus)
– file extention are now ignored so you can edit any file
– the last folder used to load a file becomes the new default
folder
– the last folder is saved in the configuration file
(so the default folder is not always pspwrite/txt/ folder)
– options are now saved on exit
– ask before to overwrite a file
– keys such as page-up or page-down are now working fine
in the virtual keyboard
– add missing key mapping in the help file
– option to specify the text and background color
– option to specify the width/heigth of the editor screen
(the screen will be automatically centered)
– tabulations are now supported
(and expanded in space optionally)
– Bug fix and code cleaning

Pixelizer v1 (PSP Lua Game)

Here comes the readme:

Pixelizer v1
Coded by Judas

Pixelizer is my first public release. The game takes its likeness from the palettes and boards of Animal Crossing. Since there were already so many designs for it, I figured that would be best. The game also take part of its gameplay from Pencil Puzzles. Pencil Puzzles are small puzzles in the back of Tips & Tricks magazine. (Thanks T & T) The object is to fill in squares to form a picture. Well, combining that, with Animal Crossing brings you the addicting game you see here. And yes, there is a coder by the name of Access_Denied who created Pencil Puzzles for the PSP, but in all honesty, the code wasn’t that good. (Sorry Access_Denied) His game is what inspired me to make this. Anyway, here’s what the game is.

GamePlay
The object is simple. Fill in squares until you get a picture. On the right of the giant grid, you will see a block titled “Current Block”. Copy that block’s pixels over to the giant grid, following the coordinates indicated by the two ‘arrows’ to guide you to which box. As you progress, the picture will become more clear, but more confusing at the same time. In this case, look at the preview box to get a smaller, clearer picture of it. When you’re done you shall see the beautiful picture. Then, simply take a screenshot, and you’re done. Start a new puzzle.

Controls
R-Trigger + L-Trigger — Change Current Block.
Triangle — Change from giant grid to color select menu.
Cross — Assign the highlighted square the current color.
Start — Take a screenshot. (Saved in ~/Pixelizer/ScreenShots/xxxxx.png)
Select + Circle — Return to menu to select puzzle.

Future Releases
I plan on making future releases, including many, many puzzle releases. Please send all comments, questions, suggestions and bugs to mtlavris@yahoo.com or PM Judas on the QJ.net forums.

Puzzles
I do plan on releasing more puzzles. But, I also plan on writing a guide on how to make your own puzzles. But, if you decide to make your own, please assign them random names, as to not give away their picture. (I use anagrams of the original name.)

Credits
All coding done by Judas.
Thanks to Access-Denied for the idea.
Thanks to Tips & Tricks for the puzzles.
Thanks to Animalcrossingcommunity.com for the patterns.
And finally, thanks to QJ.net for being awesome.
