Squidge has released Spot, which is a GP32 emulator for the GP2x. This version is a “Pre-pre-pre-pre-pre Alpha” using version number 0.0.0.0000001.
It’s very very slow and has no joystick control and no sound. Consider it as technical demo for now.

War has striked your country and enemy forces are invading your lands. But this has nothing to do with the game. Just try to shoot around. Credits: Nothing Anesthetic, Tesla, Chaosmaker & Decipher.

Amoebax is a free Puyo Puyo-style puzzle game for up to two players. The objective of the game is to beat the opponent in a battle by filling up their grid up to the top with garbage.
The game is still in early development stages, but binaries will be available for Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and GP2X. Since Amoebax is free software, the source code is also available.
Version 0.1.1 (2007-03-11)
Added normal mode with six AI players. Substituted placeholder graphics with sweet new graphics. Fixed some minor bugs.
ST-Sound GP2X is an Atari ST music player. It plays music stored in YM-files. This version is based on Aylet gp2x and uses the ST-Sound engine of Arnaud Carre.

New things (all Chui and fox68k’s work, just adapted for the GP2X):SuperThrottle – Hold down the right trigger first, then whilst still holding it, hold down the left trigger too. This will disable sound and set frameskip to 10 to speed things up. This trys to speed up intros and general loading time. DF1 support – To insert a disk in DF1 instead of DF0, use the X button rather than the B one. You can eject DF1 with the ‘Eject DF1’ menu option. Tested with Lemmings. Compatibility – Now runs the Three Stooges, for example. Faster – seems faster to me, and handles sound better. Menu shortcuts – L brings up the load dialog, R runs, Y ejects DF1. I’ll fix up the things that I broke doing the merge whenever I get time (Faked sound doesn’t fake anything, zipped file support doesn’t work at the moment).
Fujeyla has ported Ruby and RubyGame to the GP2x. Ruby is a interpreted scripting language for quick and easy object-oriented programming. RubyGame is a combination extension and library for the Ruby language, with the goal of making it easy and fun to create games in Ruby.
Further release notes:
Because Ruby is fun to code with and because it’s fun to code games, I’ve tried to find a way to code for the GP2X using this language.
So I’m pleased to release this statically built version of Ruby including the static RubyGame extension.
The RubyGame version is the 1.0 that currently doesn’t support sound (incoming feature) but support all needed features to create 2D games as it uses SDL, SDL_image, SDL_ttf and SDL_gfx libs (statically included in this version)
Squidge released a first version of his Nintendo SNES emulator for the GP2x. It is classified as a techdemo.
Thanks to GP32x for the news.
Release notes:
Still very basic, but it runs some roms quite well, like Super mario world. To use it you need to unzip the contents to the root of your sd card, and the rom you want to use needs to be called”snes.smc”and be in the same directory. To exit the emulation press the ‘start’ button.
At the moment, it’s in 100% C apart from the cpu core, which is in asm (taken from yoyo’s little john palm). Once it’s usable, I plan to implement more asm and speedups.
Note that this is classified as a ‘techdemo’ – it’s not currently playable. The only button that will do anything is ‘start’, which exits the emulation.
