Bee Ball v6.1 (A2600 Game)

Bee Ball is a volleyball type game, but the difference matters. You and your CPU player are bees and of course you don’t push around any ordinary volleyball, no it’s a honeyball!

Release notes:

It’s AI update, the unique way I found to fix that bug mentioned by Nathan is disable Stroke movement, in ball served by bee judge. You need touch the ball at first, to do stroke, but this time is enought to respositioning opponent player, to try blocking. And in overall, AI is more competitive. Still easy, but more challenging. I not fix the screen jump bug yet.

For now there is just a NTSC version, PAL version might follow.

Titan Diamonds v0.1 (A2600 Game)

Fort Apocalypse is having his hands on a new game! – Titan Diamonds.

Release notes:

In development… So far only have
* a lander
* crumbling playfield

Plans (I think these are realistic) are:
* landing pad where you refuel (ball)
* shoot rock in attempt to find diamond that is same color as playfield (also ball) except it flickers (the diamond)
* ufo runs across top and shoots down at you
* lose fuel by hitting playfield
* run out of fuel and you crash
* 2 players
* can shoot opposing player
* get points by collecting diamonds (“win” game at 10 diamonds?)
* can select different levels (may need help with playfields if people have ideas, but remember gravity)
* playfield only crumbles when ufo’s shots hit ground?/blockquote>

Schoolbus v0.1

The story is that you are a schoolbus driver and there is a storm that took a lot of powerlines down and you have to drive to school without running off the road or into downed powerlines. It is basically currently just a side-scrolling driving game where you get more points by driving faster and longer.

Bee Ball v6.0 (A2600 Game)

Bee Ball is a volleyball type game, but the difference matters. You and your CPU player are bees and of course you don’t push around any ordinary volleyball, no it’s a honeyball!

Changes:

– Added serve rules (like in old volleyball rules). You need serve ball to score a point. See the pointer in score.
– Added title screen music (Sorry Nathan, it’s best I can do)
– Changed options menu fonts
– Codes optimizations
– Revised all game speeds (player movement and ball gravity)
– Finally, new AI code (but not means better AI code, still the basic)
– Fixed many (I hope all) bugs in net collision
– Added ball graphic trick
– And others things.

This version might be the final one.

GoSub2 (Build 51) (A2600 Game)

GoSub2, the successor for GoSub has been updated… Build 51 is out!

Release notes:

Well, I’m up to 19 levels, the # that the original GoSub had, but with 32k, I’ll be putting way more. One thing concerns me, though. Bank 4 has 1,887 bytes left even though it has 20 playfield commands in it. How is that right? And bank 8 only has 2,079 bytes left instead of 3,796. Is that due to the Superchip, or is it weird? Well, anyway, to play the mazes, use the level select code (fire + right to choose a level). Levels 16-19 are the newest ones.

Cave In (RC 3) (A2600 Game)

Atarius Maximus has released the third release client of his game “Cave In”, which previously made it in the news as “Adventure Game”. The game is pretty complete.

Release notes:

Edit: I fixed a bug in the RC3 release and reposted the bin. Note: Instead of pushing fire on the level select screen to start the game, push right on the joystick. This was necessary because a fire button push on the titlescreen also registered as a fire button push on the level select screen, automatically starting game 1. I’m not sure how to get around that problem just yet.

Cave In (RC 1) (A2600 Game)

Atarius Maximus has released a release client of his game “Cave In”, which previously made it in the news as “Adventure Game”. The game is pretty comple.

Here are the release notes:

I’m nearly complete with my new Adventure game, which has been about 6 months in the making. It’s written using mostly batariBasic, however I’ve got a little bit of pure ASM in there, most notably for the high resolution titlescreen. It’s a 32k game and uses the superchip for a higher resolution playfield. It’s a quest type game with 160+ different rooms to explore and specific goals that have to be accomplished – I’m including the latest version of the instuction manual that has all the details. I’m also including a map of the game which is farily current, but some room designs have changed since I last updated it. Also, the current version of the manual has lots of spoilers, just as a warning. For more info about the game, check out the thread in the 2600 basic forum here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=108757

The reason I’m posting here is I was hoping someone might be able to provide a little assistance with adding some music to this game – either in the titlescreen, in-game, or in the closing screen after you’ve beaten the game. Several people have suggested that the game would be much more ‘complete’ with some music, and unfortunately it’s beyond my skills as a programmer to create a song on the 2600 that anyone would actually want to hear. The titlescreen is already written in ASM, so it might be easier for an experienced programmer to plug in a song in that portion of the game. I’ve included that code as a separate attachment. I realize that it’s a pretty big favor to ask, and if no one is up for it that’s ok. I still wanted to share the game with everyone who frequents the homebrew forum.

I like the game as is without any music, but adding it would defintitely put a finishing touch on it. Any other comments or suggestions are welcome. Is there anyone here who might like to assist?

Thanks!
Steve
